To create better awareness among the public through media, Vision 2020: The Right to Sight – India, an NGO, in collaboration with National Programme for Prevention of Blindness, Union ministry of health and family welfare held a day-long programme at Shankar Nethralaya. Dr S.S. Badrinath, founder of Shankara Nethralaya said at the function.the chief doctor said that lack of the media to reach out to a wider audience. Experts gathered at the programme said that most of the vision problems were avoidable but went undetected due to various misconceptions, myths and social barriers.
