The pensioners have been given an extended deadline till 31st December to furnish the proof of living or life certificate.
It has been mandatory the all the pensioners drawing the pension from the PF must submit the Life certificate with Aadhar particulars in the digital format.
This has to be submitted every year before end December to get the pension for the next year.
Earlier, it had been announced that 30th November was the last date to furnish the life certificate. Hence, the pensioners have earnestly started to furnish the above. This has caused a lot of crowd in the EPFO offices.
Following the unexpected crowd level, the deadline for this has now been extended until 31st December.
The pensioners need not get anxious even if this deadline is passed – they can do so in January. However, because of the failure to meet the deadline, they will not get the pension for January. However, the pension for January will be added when the pension for February is released.
The pensioners can submit the life-certificate in the bank where they draw their pensions or in the nearest E-service centres in their locality. Rs. 10 will be the service charges to be paid.
Even if the pensioners are out of station, they can visit the EPFO office or the branch of the bank through which they draw their pension and submit the proof there. They have to take their pension-proof, bank passbook, and Aadhar card number. Instructions have been given to the banks not to keep the senior citizens waiting and to provide prompt service.
