Cyclone Ockhi will not come into land and will only browse the coast Kanyakumari and Trivandrum Coast.
You can see the eye of the Cyclone in radar. Strong gusty winds should be seen now in Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts. Heavy rains are lashing Kanyakumari district right now. Tiruchendur already reporting 40-50 km/hr winds.
Nothing to fear
The good news is its not crossing land so unlike Vardah, this will not cause huge wind damage. Still winds of 60-70 Km/hr can be witnessed. So dont park your vehicle or stand under weak trees.
Its rare rare to see eye of a cyclone passing near Kanyakumari. Fisherman should not venture into Sea in these three districts at any cost. Kanyakumari sea is going to be very Very Very rough.
