Very severe cyclone Ockhi has been lashing many districts across South India. This weather system that brewed in the Andaman Sea rapidly emerged into a cyclone and then intensified into a severe cyclonic storm. As it was passing through the southeast Arabian Sea, the humidity levels increased over South Interior Karnataka which resulted in light to moderate rains at many places of this region including over Bengaluru.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday, Bengaluru city witnessed rains to the tune of 9 mm. In the same span of time, the Hindustan airport in Bengaluru recorded 8.4 mm rains.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, cool weather conditions are prevailing over Bengaluru. Light to moderate rains is going on over the city from the past three days. However, now these rains are anticipated to take a brief break before lashing again.

The sky conditions will remain partly cloudy and may become cloudy at times. The weather though maybe almost dry but possibilities of light rains cannot be ruled out. These rains will be patchy and isolated. As per weathermen, another round of rains can be expected over Bengaluru around December 9.

The rainfall activity will occur when another weather system from the Bay of Bengal will reach Tamil Nadu and will start affecting the interior parts of southern peninsula including South Interior Karnataka and Bengaluru.

In spite of the upcoming dry spell, the weather conditions will remain pleasant and comfortable throughout the week. The maximum temperatures will range from 25°C to 27°C and minimum between 17°C and 19°C.
