Thiruvannamalai Maha Deepam 2017: Maha Deepam was lit in Om Arunachaleswarar Temple

The Thiruvannamalai temple holds immense popularity for the Karthigai Deepam festival that began in the early hours today. The Barani deepam was lighted inside the temple premises. Nearly 20 lakh devotees are awaited at the Thiruvannamalai to find the Maha Deepam that is lit on top of Thiruvannamalai Hill.
When seen at 6.00 pm today, the lighted Deepam will look as though it is an Agni that is a god’s blessing. This will look like it comes from the sky.
The foothills here is filled with the crowd of devotees all of whom are awaited to watch the Maha deepam inside the temple, on top of the hill.
