The Tamil Nadu state government has issued an order that the groceries required for the various Amudham Departmental Stores can be procured directly from the wholesale dealer in the local area from 1st December.
There are 54 Amudhan Departmental stored throughout Tamil Nadu. The customers are offered products at like groceries and household items at lower prices. However, the procurement of items required for all the 54 Amudham stores are done presently at Chennai and then distributed. Officials have been appointed to monitor the process of procurement and distribution.
Now, the state government of Tamil Nadu has issued an order whereby the items required by the 54 Amdham Stores can now be procured locally from the wholesale dealers and sold from 1st December.
An emergency review meeting was conducted for the officials in the cooperative Societies departments in the respective districts. Each district must collect the data of the mills and dealers who sell wholesale and the details of which wholesale shop is preferred for procurement for both grocery items and non-grocery items.
The state government has strictly advised that this new system of local procurement has to implemented and performed after fixing/paying the procurement prices to the wholesale dealers and the project should be continued smoothly without any maloperations.
