4 Roads to become Upgraded

Some of 4 roads are to be upgraded by the civic body with international standard.the ashok nagar stretches were chosen for the process.the ofiicials of civic body had earlier said 30 stretches would be developed into world-class roads. along with a consultant, has invited suggestions from people and NGOs. Mayor Saidai S. Duraisamy will take part in a consultation meeting on Tuesday at 5.30 pm at a community hall on Kamarajar Salai in Kodambakkam.
The officials added then that the ashok Nagar 1st, 4th and 11th avenues and Dr Ambedkar Salai—have been selected for the first phase. According to a corporation official, once the consultant gives a detailed project report (DPR),the tender process will begin. The consultant has been working on the project for more than six months to collect opinions and a feasibility study has also been done, sources said.
Within six months, work is likely to commence in these roads. We are waiting for the DPR and once everything is finalized the project will begin. We also have to identify land that has to be acquired. There will be cycle paths and footpath. Storm water drains will be provided on the sides of the roads,”after the storm undergone the drainage work will be completed, there will not be any dug-up work again. There will be a separate path for autos, share autos, buses and cycles. Not just the civic body, metro water and TNEB are also involved in this.
