Great Lakes, Chennai has bagged two awards at the recently held 3rd ICSM - Asian Supply Chain Thought Leadership Summit that took place on 16th December in Mumbai. Dr. Vaidy Jayaraman, Principal & Associate Dean, Distinguished Professor - Supply Chain Operations, Data Science & Analytics, Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai was invited as a Keynote speaker for the summit, where he addressed on ‘The long arduous road to digital supply chains – From bullock carts to bullet trains` The talk focused on how Supply Chain Management can contribute to the digitalization of the Business model and covered how commodity volatility, dynamic demand forecasting, and vendor specific challenges have forced supply chains to become more resilient to external shocks and strategic plans to mitigate supply chain risks.
The summit was attended by eminent faculty members from various B Schools (XLRI, NITTE, IMT, Amity etc) and senior administrators from more than 60 companies (Godrej Consumer Products Ltd., MIT Global SCALE Network, USA, Mahindra & Mahindra (Auto), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd, Mondelez International India etc.) in the area of Supply Chain across domains including Manufacturing, Financial Services, Logistics Service Providers and Analytics. This was followed by an awards ceremony in the evening, in which, Great Lakes was awarded ‘Best curriculum in Supply Chain Management’ and honored Dr. Vaidy as the ‘Best Academician in Supply Chain Operations’ for his overall contribution in research, teaching and consulting.
