Public appeal to persist with the Tambaram-Sengottai passenger train

With the commencement of the Sabarimala season, the public has demanded that the special afternoon train between Tambaram and Sengottai should be operated daily.
The Tambaram-Sengottai passenger train was operated 5 days a week for the last 3 months via Thanjavur, Manamadurai, and Rajapalayam. As the train operated in the afternoon, it has become hugely popular.
The Southern Railway had announced earlier that this will be a daily service soon. However, the train which was run only for 5 days a week during the last 3 months, no further announcement has been made. The public is put to great hardship.
The Rajapalayam Traders Association and the Nellai Virudhunagar district train passengers have demanded that the train service should be on all the 7 weekdays as announced earlier.
