Airline gifts Christmas vacation and a newly-renovated home for Mala Smriti Home children
Gurugram, December 21, 2017: SpiceJet celebrated Christmas week — the season of giving — in a very special way. The airline donned Santa’s red cap and suit and brought fun and cheer into the lives of some of the most deserving communities in our society — the little angels of Mala Smriti Home, Noida.
Under its ‘Little Hearts, Big Love’ initiative, SpiceJet, on December 21, took 25 children of the NGO and seven of their attendants to the Aapno Ghar Amusement Park in Gurugram on a three-day exciting adventure trip filled with innumerable joyrides, a variety of foods, and other attractions.
The fun and entertainment for the children of the orphanage continues throughout December 22-23.
The children will be in for a huge surprise when they return to Mala Smriti Home on the evening of December 23. The place they call their home will have been entirely renovated by the airline. It will have a brand new coat of paint and furniture, enhancing their comforts several fold, and will also be adorned with a Christmas tree, lights and other décor. The evening will end on a happy note as the children are treated to a wonderful Christmas party, with loads of games and gifts.
Mr. Debojo Maharshi, CMO, SpiceJet said, “We, at SpiceJet, like to celebrate all our festivals in unique ways, and always in a spirit of giving and bringing happiness to others. It is our constant endeavour to give back to the society, especially the needy and underprivileged children who deserve a happy childhood and a better future. This initiative, we believe would help the children have a better quality of life for a long time to come. I wish the children of Mala Smriti Home and everyone a Merry Christmas!”
SpiceJet through similar activities has always believed in giving back to the society and been on a mission to spread joy. In a one-of-a-kind initiative ‘Roshan Hoga Desh Hamara’ launched on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the airline had adopted the remote village of Baruahchuck, in the Majuli district in Assam. SpiceJet aims to provide sustainable energy access through solar microgrid to the people living here thereby improving their quality of life.
Earlier this year, SpiceJet celebrated Raksha Bandhan in a unique way. The airline flew almost 50 sisters and families of Army Jawans to meet their brothers posted on the western border and the national capital, in what was an exciting two-day event.
