On the occasion of the sacred Vaikunta Ekadasi, the special Sorgavasal thirappu (Heaven gates opening) event will be performed on 29th December in the famous Chennai Triplicane Sri Parthasarathy temple.
At 4.00 AM on 29th December, The deity will be taken out in the internal corridors of the temple. The ‘sorgavasal’ opening is scheduled at 4.40 AM.
Subsequently, honours and obeisance will be paid to the Vaishnavite Saint Nammalwar, known as the ‘Vedham Tamil seidha Maran’,
Following this, the Darshan of the main deity of the temple Sri Parthasarathy is open for the devotees.
At 12.00 midnight, the procession of the deity of Sri Parthsarathyaong with the deity of the Vaishnavite Saint Nammalwar will be conducted.
The `Sorgavasal Darshan` will be available and open for the devotees from 30th December to 6th January till 6.00 PM and at 9.00 AM on 7th January.
Special arrangements are being made for the occasion of the Sorgavasal opening.
