Some points to be noted while changing the patta

The person who buys a property needs not only to register the bought property under his/her name - he/she needs to change the Patta (the deed confirming the name of the owner).

Important points:
  • Try to find the taluk boundaries within which the property is located Apply in that region’s Taluk office for the change in patta.
  • Download the requisite application from the website on the net and fill up clearly with all details.
  • The names of the applicant, his/her husband’s/wife’s names the residential address, etc., should be clearly and legibly filled.
  • Survey Number: Please fill up the property details without any errors. Remember that the survey number is properly written. Fill up the details like whether the entire place under the referred survey number has been bought.
  • In case only a part of the survey number property has been bought, fill up the supplementary survey number correctly. Attach the proof of payment for having paid the fee for the application for change of patta.
  • In order to confirm that the property is indeed in the owner’s name, attach a copy of the receipt of the property tax paid, or Voter ID, or electricity bill card,
  • The property could have been obtained in the form of a share of property divided, or the settlement of the will. The details of these related documents should be attached to the application for change of patta.
