Call-taxi drivers go on strike today

The call-taxi drivers will be on a 1-day strike today (Wednesday, 3rd January) stressing on their various demands.
They have expressed their apprehensions that the proposal to revise the Indian Motor vehicle Act will affect them strongly. This proposed revision will be favourable only to the corporate companies. Emphasising this, the call-taxi drivers throughout Tamil Nadu are on a 1-day strike today (3rd January).
Further, they have observed that the private cab operating companies like Uber and OLA take an additional percentage of commission and this affects their incomes leading to losses. They have demanded that only the government should fix the commission percentage.
