Low Pressure in Bay to revive rain in Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Chennai weather has remained mainly dry for quite some time now. In fact, apart from a couple of spells of traces of rain, the month of December has remained rain free for Chennai. Now, even Northeast Monsoon has bid adieu from the capital city of Tamil Nadu which has further reduced Chennai’s chances of getting some rains.

However, there is some good news in store for the residents of Chennai. Rain gods are all set to bring in some light to moderate rains over the capital city and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

At present, the low pressure lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea. This system will be moving west northwestwards and affecting Tamil Nadu coast subsequently. Thus, Chennai may also receive some rains due to the movement of the system.

On January 9 and 10, light to moderate spells for short durations are expected over the city of Chennai. Not only this, during the next 24 hours, little warm weather will prevail, and night will be pleasant. After the rainfall activity, day temperatures as well as minimums will witness a reduction while humidity levels will see an increase.

Some parts of Coastal Tamil Nadu may begin to witness some rain activity during the next 24 hours itself.
