The latest news that has come out is Mr K. Gnanadesikan who was former chief secretary is now posted as industrial secretary by the government of Tamil Nadu. It must be noted that Mr. Mohan Pyare who is the additional secretary is now posted as vigilance commissioner and commissioner for administrative reforms and he would be taking over from Mr VK. Jeyakodi.  Mr. Jeyakodi is now posted as commissioner for land administration.

It must not be forgotten that in the month of August in the year 2016 this Gnanadesikan was one amongst eight officials who were suspended by the government and that was because of some charges associated with beach sand mining.

This sudden suspension of Mr. Gnanadesikan created many issues and there was condemnation plus IAS officers assembled for a meeting and showed their displeasure against sacking of Gnanadesikan at the meeting. As a result Mr. Gnanadesikan later took charge once again and this was done by the chief minister Mr. O. Paneerselvam.

According to a senior official, this appointment of Mr. Gnanadesikan as industrial secretary is superb as he has got great experience. It must be noted that in the year 2015 at the global investors meeting, investments commitments were made were not realized fully till now. Now it is said that posting of Mr Gnanadesikan as industrial secretary would be beneficial in this regard. Previously this Gnanadesikan was the director of Anna Institute of Management and now Mr. Atulya Misra would be the director.

It is important to mention here that DVAC or Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption registered FIR on 17 persons and the news that has come out is soon three more persons would be included.
