A lunar eclipse will occur from 5.18 PM to 8.41 PM on 31st January. On this occasion, the Tirupathi temple corridors will be closed 6 hours before the lunar eclipse starts.
So, the famous Tirupathi temple corridors will remain closed on 31st January from 11.00 AM to 9.30 PM.
The temple corridors will open at 9.30 PM and the cleansing operations of the temple complex will be taken up. Once the cleaning is completed, ‘Punniyavadhanam and Naivedyam will be performed on the main deity of the temple.
Subsequently, the devotees will be permitted to have the Darshan of the Lord Venkateswara from 10.30 PM to 12.00 midnight.
During the lunar eclipse, the regular scheduled festivals/pooja such as Kalyana Utsavam, Oonjal Sevai, Arjitha Brahmotsavam, Vasantha Utsavam, and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva are cancelled on 31st January. Besides, the devotees will not be allowed Darshan during this period.
