Mythical story on eclipses
- The moon (Chandran) is affected by ‘Rahu Dhosham’ as he had done some misdeeds. Because of the misdeed, Rahu (in snake form) tries to capture the Moon and cripple him.
- However, Chandran appeals and prays the God and chants slokas. The God blesses him and Chandran gets relieved from Rahu Dhosham.
- As per the above, the belief or faith is that if an individual prays the God with utmost dedication and devotion during the eclipse period, the individual sins committed will get removed and God’s blessing will be obtained.
