This overflowing sewage is creating issues for the public in Royapettah in Chennai now

Overflowing sewage is always a problem for the people as it produces bad smell plus it causes many diseases. The overflowing sewage in Royapettah has grabbed the attention of many now.

General Patters Road in Royapettah is an important area in Chennai and many people travel by this place every day. In this place overflowing sewage is causing huge problems for the people and passengers now. It is now clear that people going to famous Express Avenue mall are facing problems now due to this overflowing sewage as they have to make their way through this overflowing sewage only.

This sewage goes up to bus stop at General Patters Road and Woods Road joints and it is flows like a channel. This has resulted in the damage to the road. One important point to note is the traffic slows down hugely and it creates many problems for the passengers.

Mr Ravi who has retired from tourism department shared his thoughts and said the roads near malls or near other famous places, that are visited by huge number of people, must be clean, well laid and must not have any water loggings etc.

He also spoke about how the concerned authorities must have awareness regarding broken pavements plus road with potholes, roads with sewage etc as these issues create bad impression about the city.

It is now revealed that a manhole situated opposite to the EAmall has been overflowing. According to an official belonging to Metrowater department, the reason for this overflowing is simple. He said that the sewage lines are not able to handle the sewage load produced by many commercial establishments.

It is brought out that the expansion of sewage pipe lines would be done as soon as clearance from the corporation of Chennai for road cut is given. The official also threw light on how the old pipeline with 150-250mm in diameter would be replaced by new pipeline of 250mm diameter.
