The central ministry of external affairs has ordered the simplification of the procedure to issue passports.

Accordingly, some changes in procedures have been introduced for the those who have applied for passports under the Tatkal scheme and also the stage of police verification after the issue of passport.

In the revised procedure, the passport applicants have to submit their Aadhar card number, Aadhar registration card, Annexure form-E, and only any 2 out of the 12 documents referred in this form.

Applications under the age of 18  have to submit any one of the documents referred in the para 2 (B) and obtain the passport through Tatkal procedure.

The attachment form-E can be downloaded from the website:

The 2nd plan published in the government journal is the revised version of the order issued by the Ministry of External Affairs on 25th January 2016. As per this, for the candidates who apply for the passport for the 1st time, need not pay the additional Tatkal fees. They need to submit their Aadhar card details, Voter ID, PAN card, family card and filled form-E and get the passport.

The procedure of police verification will be taken up later. They can apply as per the normal procedure – there is no necessity to apply through Tatkal procedure.
