Chennai Metro Rail Limited has made changes to its existing timetable. The new timetable will be applicable from tomorrow (February 1, 2018). The change is intended to facilitate office-goers by reducing the waiting time at stations.
In the revised timetable, the Metro trains will run between Shenoy Nagar and St.Thomas Mount stations with a frequency of seven minutes during peak hours from 1st February.
The current peak-hour frequency is every 9-10 minutes. This is now changed to every 7 minutes between Shenoy Nagar and St. Thomas Mount. This frequency will be during peak hours - from 8.30am to 10.30am and from 5pm to 8.30pm.
This revision has been carried out after a survey which indicated that the maximum number of office-goers travel between Shenoy Nagar and St Thomas Mount in corridor two.
The new timetable will be applicable from Monday to Saturday.
