The very 1st Tesla car manufactured has arrived in India. It is a blue Model X with the steering on its right side.

The model could be a personal vehicle and hence cannot be used for test purposes. Tesla has offered the Indians to book for the Model 3.

Greenwich Meridian Logistics, a company located in Mumbai, has imported the model. The vehicle looks like a variant of the 75D model. It comes with a 75 kWh battery pack. The vehicle is a base variant of the luxury electric SUV model. This packs 2 motors, one for each axle.

It is unofficially gathered that the vehicle has 333 PS of power and 525 Nm of torque. This electric vehicle can cover 381 km on a single charge. An optimistic view reckons it can travel up to 417 km on a single charge.

The vehicle accelerates to 97kmph from a standstill in just 4.9 seconds. Tesla cars have their battery low in the frame to help improve handling and minimize body roll.

The most stunning feature of the vehicle is its design. The motorised ‘Falcon’ wing doors help it stand out quite effortlessly. Further, the minimalist interior design theme looks sophisticated with a massive touchscreen taking centre stage. The vehicle can be ordered in five, six or seven-seat configurations.

Other features of the Tesla Model X include the ability to drive and steer itself on sparsely dense roads. It comes with the necessary hardware to enable full self-driving, which can be unlocked later for a fee.

The price of the model Model X 75D in the UK is about Rs 61 lakhs. If the taxes are added as per Indian rules/regulations for importing a luxury vehicle, it would push the price to about Rs 1.2 crore.

The Tesla Model X competes against full-size luxury SUVs such as Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X5, Audi Q7 and the likes.
