As there has been a break in the consistent wind-flow, there are prospects of rain with thunder and lightning in the southern and the western districts of Tamil Nadu from 7th to 10th February.
The prospects of rain are bright in the districts of Kovai, Kanyakumari, Tirupur, Salem, Tirunelveli (mountain region), Erode, Namakkal, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Dharmapuri, Thiruvannamalai, Nilgiris, Sivagangai, Madurai, Virudhunagar, and Krishnagiri.
The Chennai Metro City may be partly cloudy during the noon period. There are prospects of light rain.
The rain may be due to the sudden change in the direction of wind-flow, As the wind, which flows towards east over the Bay of Bengal has changed direction and is towards the Arabian Sea, there are good prospects of rain. The rain is mainly due to the unsteady and changing wind-flow direction. There are good prospects that the rains may be mostly in the interior districts of Tamil Nadu.
