Public may visit Raj Bhavan for sight-seeing on all 7-days in the week

It has been announced that the public can visit the Raj Bhavan in Guindy for sight-seeing on all the 7 days of the week from today (Friday, 9th February).

The public was allowed to visit Raj Bhavan for sight-seeing during the period when Vidyasagar Rao was the governor of Tamil Nadu. The public could visit Raj Bhavan for sight-seeing in restricted numbers only on Saturdays and Sundays from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

The new governor Banwarilal Purohit assumed office last October. The visit procedure continued for only Saturdays and Sundays.

However, from today (Friday, 9th February), the announcement has been made that the public will be allowed to visit the Chennai Guindy Raj Bhavan for sight-seeing on all 7 days in the week.

The announcement mentions that with a view to encouraging the public and the students, the public will be allowed to visit Raj Bhavan on all 7 days of the week from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

The visitors can see the location where the President and other VIPs stay during their visits to Chennai, the Governor`s residence, the Durbar Hall where the event of assuming office and oath-administration are conducted, and the deer park space, In order to safeguard the environment, electric vehicles are arranged to visit the Raj Bhavan for 1-hour sight-seeing.
