TRAI (Telecommunication Regulation Authority of India) has officially announced that one of the competitors in the field of telecommunication services, Aircel, will be closed on 15th March.
Aircel has encountered some very cute crisis on several fronts in the last few weeks. Because of this, its customers could not handle either incoming calls and unable to make any outgoing calls as well experiencing total agony.
This problem was mainly attributed to the pending payment issue from Airtel to the tower owners. Subsequently, this payment issue seems to have been resolved and the Aircel services are restored.
This development has somewhat pacified the Aircel customers.
In this scenario, Aircel has submitted a petition yesterday (Wednesday, 28th February) to the National Companies Tribunal that as it has a huge debt burden of Rs. 15000, it has asked its company to be declared as bankrupt.
This has shocked the Aircel customers. Meanwhile, The National Companies Tribunal, which scrutinized Aircel’s petition, has announced Aircel to be bankrupt.
As Aircel has incurred huge debts, it has been declared as bankrupt. It has also asked the Aircel customers to change their network.
Accordingly, TRAI has announced that the services of Aircel would be totally withdrawn by 15th April. The time has been given for the Aircel customers to change their network service provider within this date.
