People living in north Chennai have now got a piece of news to rejoice. It is now clear that CMRL or Chennai metro Rail Limited would be purchasing as many as 10 new trains so that these trains would be operating across 9.051 km stretch in north Chennai. This would be a part of phase-1 extension project.
One important point to note is popular France based Alstom would be manufacturing these new trains and it would be superb.
Recently this France Company Alstom grabbed the attention of many when it posted about the information regarding manufacturing trains for metro rail. The company had mentioned in their website about the contract they have got in this regard.
An official belonging to metro rail expressed his thoughts and spoke about the talks between CMRL and Alstom regarding manufacturing of the trains. He hinted that the talks have reached final stages and soon Alstom would be manufacturing trains for phase-1 extension.
People living in North Chennai would be benefitted greatly as these places in north Chennai would be connected with other parts of Chennai by means of 9 km stretch between Washermanpet and Wimco Nagar.
In the past this France based Alstom got contract to manufacture as many as 42 trains for phase-1 project is known. It is now revealed that Alstom are in the process of delivering final set of trains to Chennai Metro Rail Corporation.
Established in the year 1928, this Alstom has been doing superbly in rail transportation. Its headquarters is located in Saint-Ouen in France. In the year 2014 this company had as many as 32000 employees is known.
