The Online applications for pursuing the postgraduate medical courses commenced yesterday (Friday, 16th March).
There are 1250 seats available for MD and MS Courses, and 396 seats for Diploma course for a total of 1646 seats.
50% of the seats are reserved for the central government and the other 50% for the state government.
The distribution of applications for the state government quota of 50% started yesterday (Friday, 16th March).
Further, Indian Medical Council looks after the admission of the postgraduate courses available in self-financed medical colleges as well. So, the students interested in pursuing the medical post graduation courses in self-financed colleges have to download the above application forms to apply.
Applications can be downloaded until 5.00 PM on 23rd March.
The filled applications must be submitted to the Selection Committee of the Office of the Indian Medical Council functioning in Kilpauk, Chennai.
The Secretary of the Selection Committee informed that the quota of seats reserved for the state government in the self-financed medical colleges has not been received yet. The details will be announced after the receipt of the same.
It is planned to release the merit list on 8th April. The counseling dates will be announced later.
For the doctors working in government hospitals (in remote and tough locations) to pursue postgraduate medical courses, an additional mark varying from 10% to 30% is proposed to be given while preparing the merit list.
