The presence of LED lightings in all the stations of southern Railways is sensational

We all know that conservation of energy is very important. Now southern Railways have done sensationally in this aspect and grabbing many eyeballs.
In as many as 714 stations under the southern Railways the presence of as many as 86,291 LED lightings are superb and this is spoken in high esteem by many. It is now said that southern railways has now become one of the green railway zones in India.
In place of conventional fluorescent lamps, T5 lamps plus CFL lamps, high wattage MH lamps now LED lightings are present and this switching over to 100 % energy efficient LED lightings by southern Railway is appreciated greatly.
The two main advantages of using LED lightings are better illumination and longevity as this LED lighting is the current technology in the lighting industry. It is worthy to mention here that the payback period is also very attractive and this was confirmed by a press release.
Earlier 31st of March was kept as deadline to convert into 100 percent LED lighting but this conversion was done by 15th of March itself and that is great news.
In the year 1951 this southern railway which is one of the 17 zones of Indian railways came into existence. It is important to note that southern Railways were got by merging three state railways.
