This fresh case of cholera in Chennai is creating many worries for the authorities now

Recently Apollo Hospitals in Nandanam, Chennai revealed about as many as five cases of cholera due to consumption of food from outside. Many were shocked because of this cholera coming back to Chennai once again.

Now to rub more salt to the wound, a fresh case of cholera was reported by Apollo Hospitals in Greams Road in Chennai. This has now created huge confusions on the authorities as they don’t know the exact reason behind this cholera.

Presence of contaminants outside the premises of Apollo Hospitals in Nandanam were denied by both civic authorities as well as the food safety department as five cases of cholera tested positive.

The GCC or Greater Chennai Corporation was informed by Apollo Hospitals Nandanam about these five positive cases of cholera last week is known. It was concluded that outside food eaten by the patients would have caused this cholera infection.

On Saturday, 31st March 2018 fresh case of this disease was reported by Apollo Hospitals at Greams Road in Chennai.

Mr. Kathiravan designated food safety officer denied the outbreak in other parts belonging to Chennai city. He also spoke about how the reason for fresh cholera case was not clear till now.

He later threw light on how the samples from the surrounding places and premises did not have any contaminants and in the hospital premises only cases of cholera were reported.

The cause for outbreak of this cholera is unknown and the authorities of the hospital have taken emergency steps to stop this disease from spreading.  The latest news is civic authorities, food safety department officials have increased the checking of collected samples. The health education department is also trying its best to educate many about cholera.

Dr. T. G. Srinivasan health education officer spoke about the importance of many health awareness programmes at public places and educational institutions.
