Home-to-home call for the medical check-up

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E.Palanisamy inaugurated a new procedure of visiting all the individual residences of the public to check and detect high blood pressure and diabetes yesterday (Friday, 13th April).

The Tamil Nadu state government has been implementing the project of detecting all the non-infectious diseases among the citizens in all the districts.

Proper treatment:

In the above project, all the visitors (over 30 years of age) to the government hospitals and the primary health centres are checked for blood pressure, diabetes, womb/uterus cancer, and breast cancer.

If the symptoms of any of the above illnesses are detected, the concerned patient will be given medical treatment in the government hospital and the private hospitals under the Chief Minister’s Extensive medical Insurance Scheme.

As a part of this project, the task was undertaken to make home-to-home visits in the districts of Perambalur, Pudhukkottai, and Krishnagiri to check the residents for blood pressure and diabetes.

Now, this process is being extended to cover the entire state. This was inaugurated yesterday by the state Chief Minister at the Central Secretariat.

Test equipment box:

In the above project, the women social service enthusiasts are set to visit the house-to-house and check. A box containing the blood pressure checking kit, glucometer, patient identity card, and recommendation letter was handed over to the individuals.
