On and off pre-Monsoon activity has been going on over Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka since the beginning of the month.

The reason for these frequent pre-Monsoon activities can be attributed to a north-south trough which is extending from central parts of the country up to Interior Tamil Nadu across South Interior Karnataka. This trough is a semi-permanent feature during this time of the year.

As per Skymet Weather, on and off rains are expected to continue over these states. The intensity of the pre-Monsoon showers is likely to increase over South Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu as well as Kerala during the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, isolated pockets of North Karnataka will continue to receive light pre-Monsoon activities. After 48 hours also, on and off pre-Monsoon rains are expected to continue over these states. Thus, dry spell is not anticipated dry over these three states of South India for some time at least.

The capital city of Karnataka, Bengaluru is also expected to witness light rain or thundershower activity in the next 48 hours. In the same time, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala are also likely to record rains. Meanwhile, weather in Chennai is expected to Observe thunderclouds and rains will remain on the backseat

The day and night temperatures would continue to settle in the similar range with warm and humid conditions over Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
