The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that a low-pressure zone has formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere. So, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in North and South Tamil Nadu today (Wednesday, 9th May).
An official explained in this regard:
A low-pressure zone has formed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the region from north interior Karnataka to South Tamil Nadu. Further, there is a cyclonic format over the region adjacent to the South Tamil Nadu. Because of this, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in the interior north and south Tamil Nadu, the northern coastal area of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There are prospects of heavy rain in a few places in the interior Tamil Nadu. Cyclonic strong winds may blow and there may be rain with thunder in a few places It may rain with thunder and the strong cyclonic wind blowing in a few places in Tamil Nadu.
The 7 districts of Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Karur, Trichy, and Perambalur will record a temperature of 100 Degrees to 105 Degrees Fahrenheit.
The Chennai Metro city will have a cloudy weather. The maximum temperature will be 98.6 Degrees Fahrenheit and the minimum temperature will be 84 Degrees Fahrenheit.
