A recent update from Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) confirmed the tariff hike in the price of Metro water supply through Tankers. It has revised the tariff for both domestic and commercial customers.
For the domestic customers 6000 KL tanker will be tagged for Rs 475. This new update of the tanker water supply prices are operated from May 21, 2018 for all categories and tanker sizes. This price hike was introduced without any public announcement. The new tariff for the domestic customers had an increase of Rs 75 over the previous amount.
For the commercial and Institutional customers the rate has been revised as Rs 700, the previous amount was Rs 510 (old rate – Rs 600) for this kind of users. The tariff for the tanker supply of 9000 KL has been fixed as Rs 700 (old rate – Rs 765) for domestic customers and Rs 1000 for the Commercial and Institutional Customers.
One of the senior official of Metro water said the revision of the previous tariff was the effect of increase in oil prices and the cost of water treatment. This sudden increase of the metro water supply has happened after 10 years.
A 5% increase for the domestic customers and a 10% increase for the commercial and institutional customers are revised by the Chennai Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB).
