Director S. P. Mohan had earlier assisted actor-director Prakash Raj in 2 films, Now, he makes his debut as a director with the film – Panjumittai.
The movie has been completed and is ready to be released on 1st June. The director shared his experience and other info on his 1st film as a director:
He informs that Panjumittai is a light-hearted film while at the same time, it is poignant as well.
He explains that Panjumittai is the extended version of his earlier short film – Colour-U.
Colour-U won rave appreciations when it was telecast in the programme ‘Nalaiya Iyakkunar’ (Future directors) on the television. It soon entered in several international film festivals. This galvanised him into going for new vistas –
He decided to make this a full feature film. He had to give it a wider canvas to make it a full-length feature film. However, he retained the inner core of the original.
‘The film describes how the concept of colour can affect a middle-class family in the society. I had to take care of that the treatment was light enough to connect with the family audience. The main background of the story is about an adamant hero – leading to several funny situations.’
