Effort always does bring success-this is very well-known saying. Relentless waves convert the rocks and stones into sand. So, it is not enough to have the confidence to accomplish -the right kind of effort and training are indeed essential to score a success.
Please do not forget that someone somewhere else is accomplishing the very thing or tough task that you retreated from.
Are you worried about the thought process –‘we are making continuous efforts. The age limit is going to bar, However, a government job is an immediate goal. What is to be done? In spite of writing the relevant examinations many times, there was no success in getting the job. We tend to lose the entry by a few marks when the doors of opportunity and success get shut.’
Oh! Don’t worry! Here are a few beneficial tips to success in the next attempt:
Resolution – First of all, take a strong resolution that the immediate goal is to focus and pass in the examination. Then, take the necessary steps of action to accomplish this. Start studying with full concentration. For example. You have to resolve the decision that you have to become a government servant. There are indeed domestic problems in each and every home. So, do not lose heart tending to worry over the domestic issues.
Estimate – Remember that the world honours you and glorifies you only when you score success. None talks about individuals who failed by a single mark. Only the concerned person can fret thinking what a change it could have brought in life if a single more mark had been scored. However, there would be none to listen to this kind of ranting. There is a proverb – ‘Run like a horse till you success – after success, run faster than the horse!’
It is possible to answer without studying – An average candidate writing the TNPSC competitive examination can answer 100 to 120 questions even without studying. In case, the preparation is thorough, it is possible to answer 140 questions right. Why? It is just because that TNPSC examinations are not that tough. They are all direct questions. All the questions pertain to something already studied in the school period. Especially in the Mathematics questions, one can answer 15 questions out of 25 without any study or preparation.
How to answer mathematics questions? – As far as the Group-2 examination is concerned, up to 15 questions can be answered without any preparation at all. With some preparation, it is possible to answer an additional 5 questions correct. The balance 5 question would be somewhat difficult. With the additional preparation of exercises and experience, it is still possible to answer those 5 tough questions right.
Why are language lessons more important? – As there are 100 questions in the language papers, it is better to accord some more importance to the language questions. The questions are intended for direct answers only. So, in case you know the answer, it is rather easy to score those 100 marks.
As for the question, ‘Match the following’, we might know the matching for at least 1 or 2 items- so, it is rather easy to match rightly and score. In fact, even without any preparation, a candidate can answer 50 to 60 questions right even without any preparation. As the candidate is about to answer the questions he/she is confident of the right answer, this is clearly possible. So, it is possible to answer without any confusion.
The candidates who studied half-heartedly, they tend to get confused quickly and end up with wrong answers. The single ark lost thus is certainly deciding the fate of the candidate! Training or group study will definitely prevent this.
How many marks decide the success? – The answer to this question depends on the degree of difficulty of the question paper. In case the question paper is rather tough, success is a certainty in case the candidate is able to answer more than 160 questions right. In case the question paper is rather simple, the number of questions to be answered right increases to 180. As it is, our explanation is based on the type of questions only – so no necessity to confuse with the issue of marks.
Let us now look in detail as to how many we can answer right out of the 200 questions:
On an average, in the language question papers, one can answer 60 to 70 questions right. If this can improve to 90 right answers, success is in grasp. The success will purely depend on how the general questions are answered.
Leave aside whether the question paper is tough or not – one has to provide the right answers to 80 questions in the General Knowledge (GK) section. If this is achieved, 90+80=170 – a good mark can easily be scored. This would help accomplish the main goal of the government job.
In case the questions are rather simple, the score would be 95+85=180 – the success is made even simpler. Note that a score of 70 is good enough.
It is enough to simply study and prepare to score success in the competitive examination – persistent effort and eager/enthusiastic study only can lead to success.
So, what next? Only success waits in the examination! Try only to do whatever good – that too, right now! So, all the best for a grand success in your competitive examination!
