Counselling session for open community cadre for medical courses commences today

In the quota reserved for special categories for the medical courses for MBBS and BDS, 40 candidates got admission seats. The counselling sessions for the open community cadre starts today (Monday, 2nd July).

There are 5757 seats available in the state of Tamil Nadu offered by the government and private medical colleges. 44332 candidates have qualified as per the merit/rank list to participate in the counselling session for admission.

The 1st Phase of counselling for the medical courses commenced yesterday (Sunday, 1st July) at the Chennai Omandhurar multi-specialty hospital. In this session, 101 candidates belonging to the special category, including sports specialists, differently-abled, and the heirs of the ex-military personnel had been invited to participate in the counselling session. Out of this 101 candidates, 63 candidates participated in the counselling session.

The secretary of the Medical Admission Council, Selvarajan, explained in this regard that 38 seats for the MBBS course and 2 seats for BDS course were allotted during the counselling for a total of 40 seats.

The candidates belonging to the differently-abled cadre had also visited the complex for participating in the counselling session/. Seats were given to the candidates. 8 candidates belonging to the special cadre were put on the waiting list.

The counselling for the open community cadre is in progress today (Monday, 2nd July). In this session, the candidates who had secured the ranks for the 1st 44 places have been invited to participate.
