The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that there are very strong prospects for heavy rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu.
The Director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, explained the sudden change in the direction and speed of the western winds led to rain in several places in the last 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Heavy rains were recorded in a few places.
As regards the next 24 hours, there are prospects of rain in a few places in the northern districts and 1 or 2 places in the southern districts. There are prospects of heavy rain in a few places as well.
There are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in the Chennai Metro City during the evening or night sessions.
As for the month of the just completed June, 6% more rain from the southwest monsoon rainy season has been recorded as compared to the previous year.
