The state of Tamil Nadu has been receiving moderate to heavy showers in the last 48 hours. In fact, the capital city Chennai has also received heavy spells for the first time in this Monsoon season.
The temperatures have dropped across the state in view of the widespread Monsoon showers. As per Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to a trough which was extending from Coastal Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu. Moreover, a confluence zone was also over Interior Tamil Nadu.
We expect scattered rains to continue over Coastal parts of Tamil Nadu. In fact, isolated rains may also appear over the interior districts during the next 24 hours. Chennai rains may also appear, but they will remain in patches and light in nature. Therefore, it will not have a significant impact over the cities.
After 24 hours, the weather is expected to turn dry once again over the entire state. Although on and off isolated light rains may continue over the interior parts, but it will not affect the weather over the state. We anticipate the temperatures to rise now as the rains will reduce. Maximums are expected to settle in mid-30s to higher 30s causing the return of warm and uneasy weather conditions.
