Most parts of the country is experiencing monsoon showers! So, here we have some interesting tips to follow so that you don’t have any bitter driving experience.

Check out the driving speed

This is the first and foremost step to take. Ensure that you don’t drive in high speed. Moderate or even low speed driving is highly recommended. Keep applying light brakes periodically. Well, do you know why? There is very little friction between your car/bike tier and the road. So, when you apply instant brake, there are chances for you to lose out control over the vehicle and result in skidding.

Wipe away fog from windshield

Ensure good visibility while driving. This can be achieved by making use of heating, ventilating and air conditioning in the car. Change the switches of AC in your car so that you get air flowing into the dash. This will clear up the fog.

Do not enter water stagnant areas or waterlogged roads

Never think of driving in roads that are fully waterlogged or stagnant with rainwater. There are times when you don’t have any alternative route though. In such cases, drive without lifting the foot from the accelerator when you cross the flooded area. The engine should function slowly and rpm should be maintained under 1200. With this, the engine would produce the needed emission via exhaust and there will be constant friction in the power distributor. So, there will be no water entering the exhaust pipe to cease the moving car.

Once you have crossed the flooded area, do a little follow through. To continue driving without hassles, increase the rpm so that water seeps out through all possible outlets. Importantly, do not over speed after crossing such flooded locale.

Is your vehicle stuck in such water stagnant areas?

If you have parked the car in an area and it has unfortunately got water stagnant, do not start the car, no matter what. Seek help from a nearby mechanic. He will guide you right. You may have to check the engine oil to know if any water droplet has entered. Never turn on the ignition if there are water traces.

Dry out the air filters. Vacuum the interiors of car and dry clean it or you will end up with a foul smell. Often check the spark plug and clean out the power distributor. You may also need to clean the injectors. The clutch should also be checked as they may have got slippery – the clutch plates and pressure plates.
