No heavy rains expected for 7 days

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has estimated that there are no prospects for any heavy rain for a week. The southwest monsoon rainy season, which was rapidly active this year with the persistent heavy downpour of rains in the southern states of the country, has now drifted towards the northern part of the country.
There have been heavy rains in the states of Andhra, Telangana, and Odisha due to the development of a low-pressure zone.

There are no prospects for any heavy rains until 25th August. There are prospects of sudden rain in a few places due to the phenomenon of thermal convection.
The Chennai Metro City will remain cloudy. There are prospects of rain in the city during the evening or the night sessions due to thermal convection.
