Jet Airways, India’s full service, premier international airline, has waived off air freight charges on all domestic cargo shipments of relief material to Kerala. The airline is also working closely with the State Administration and several NGOs such as ResulPookutty Foundation, Uday Foundation, The Art of Living, Karukapadath Charitable Trust, Rotary India, Doctors for You and Americares India among others, to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in Kerala. Till date, Jet Airways has airlifted over 10 tonnes of relief material comprising medicines, clothes, baby food, rice and other provisions, milk powder, bed sheets, and linen to the flood ravaged state.

At this critical hour, help is forthcoming from everyone including celebrities and other personalities who have channelised their assistance through several NGOs. Jet Airways has transported a consignment containing medicines, clothes and food to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund today on behalf of the ResulPookutty Foundation, contributions to which were made by superstar, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan, Oscar and Bafta winning Indian film sound designer, Mr. ResulPookutty and Alia Bhatt among many others.

Commenting on the same, Mr. ResulPookutty said, “I am overwhelmed with the kind of help coming in from various quarters in the last few days. I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to the relief efforts especially Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt. I would also like to send a heartfelt thank you to Jet Airways for quickly carrying the relief materials to Thiruvananthapuram from Mumbai and waiving off the air freight charges. ‘Incredible India’ epitomises the actual spirit of India and not just a tagline.”

Mr. Vinay Dube, CEO, Jet Airways said, “Jet Airways takes great pride in standing united with the communities it serves. While our efforts to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the devastation in Kerala are small measures given the scale of the destruction, we are taking every possible step to help people recover from this life-altering tragedy.”

In addition to waiving off air freight charges, Jet Airways had already been capping its Economy fares on all of its non-stop domestic flights to/ from its operating destinations in Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Kochi) and Mangalore. The airline has also been operating additional flights on both domestic and international sectors for the added convenience of its guests. Effective 24th August, Jet Airways will operate daily flights to the Naval airfield at Kochi from Bengaluru.

Jet Airways has extended the waiver for guests holding confirmed tickets and travelling into and out of Cochin till 29th August, 2018. As per the waiver, date/ flight change fee from the original travel date or choosing alternate destination which is close to Cochin airport, refund, no-show penalties and fare difference if any due to the closure of the Cochin airport have been waived off. Guest can change dates up to 15th September, 2018 from the original travel date.
