Draft voters list to be released tomorrow in Tami Nadu

Except for the 4 states in the country scheduled for Legislative Assembly elections, the draft voters list is to be released tomorrow (Saturday, 1st September).
The regularly conducted annual routine of corrections in the voters` list will commence tomorrow (1st September). For this purpose, a draft voters list is set to be released in all the states by 10.00 AM tomorrow. In case of those whose names are missing in this draft voters list and those who complete 18 years of age as on 1st January 2019, can apply till 31st October for the inclusion of their names in this list.
Applications can be submitted from tomorrow for corrections in the name or address or change of address, and also for removal of names.
Apart from the 4 states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh, and Mizoram, the correction of voters list will be undertaken in all the other states.
The verification of the voters` list may be carried out in camps during the Village Union meetings, and the residents` welfare associations meetings on 8th and 22nd September and 6th and 13th October. In the polling booths, special camps for this will be conducted on 9th and 23rd September and 7th and 14th October.
The activity of filling the applications on the computer will be completed by 16th November. The field survey of checking all the applications will be completed by 1st December.
The Election Commision has informed that the final voters` list for all assembly constituencies will be released on 4th January 2019.
In this regard for voters list, The Tamil Nadu Chief Election Commissioner Satyapradha Sahu held a video conference with all the district collectors.
Satyapadha Sahu explained in this regard that no applications were received over the last 10 days for any corrections in the draft voters list. The draft voters list scheduled for release on 1st September.
On this front, the meeting of the approved political representatives is being conducted today. The participants will be explained about the correction activities on the voters` list. They can point out the mistakes if any. The draft voters list will be approved in the village sabha meeting. Special voters’ camps will also be conducted. The draft voters list will be given to the approved political parties.
