Tamil Nadu government pilgrimage subsidy for Christians

Applications are invited from Christians in Tamil Nadu to avail the Tamil Nadu government subsidy of Rs 20,000 for pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Application forms can be collected at backward community, most backward community and Minorities welfare department in the district collector’s office.
Those who are interested to apply can also download the application online from the website, www.bcmbcmw.tn.gov.in. The required documents and filled application forms should be sent to the managing director, Tamil Nadu minorities economic development corporation, 807, fifth floor, Anna Salai, Chennai- 600002 before September 10.
Applicants should mention the following words - ‘Petition for pilgrimage to Jerusalem,’ on the postal cover to categorize the applications for the concerned official said one of the releases from Chennai district collector S Karunakaran.
The government will provide Rs 20,000 for each individuals undertaking the Jerusalem pilgrimage covering Bethlehem, Nazareth, River Jordan, Sea of Galilee, and other sacred places. The pilgrimage is planned between July and December 2018. Christian families or individuals with Tamil Nadu as their state can apply for the subsidy. One of the important requirement denoted the applicant must have a passport with minimum one year validity as of July 1, 2018. Medical and fitness certificates should be provided beforehand for the approval of the subsidy regarding the overseas travel.
