CII Southern Region Poka Yoke Competition

The culture of total quality management, total productive management in the manufacturing as well as service sector gave birth to new ways to improve quality of products. By using various tools of TQM, organisation is intended to develop quality culture. In today’s competitive world, any organisation needs to manufacture high quality, defect free products at optimum cost.
The Poka-Yoke is a technique to keep away human error at work. Over the years, organisations have been successfully practicing Poka-Yoke for excellence. Organisations have realized that the basic imperatives to survive in today’s competitive environment need Poka - yoke : "mistake - proofing". A Poka -yoke is any mechanism in a lean manufacturing process that helps an equipment operator avoid (yokeru) mistakes (poka). Its purpose is to eliminate product defects by preventing, correcting, or drawing attention to human errors as they occur.
Poka -Yoke implies to all employees from the CEO to the assembly line workers of processes in manufacturing, engineering, supporting business processes and management.
In view of this background, CII Southern Region felt the need to create awareness of the Best Poka – Yoke being implemented in the member’s organisation and make them known to all industry across the region, thus initiating the Poka – Yoke competition platform in the year 2016 to encourage the membership to take advantage of CII services.
With this, CII Southern Region is pleased to announce its 3rd Edition of Poka-Yoke Competition for the year 2018 which is scheduled to be held on 26 October 2018 at Hotel Westin in Chennai.
Who Should Participate?
CII Member Companies located in South India are eligible to apply for the Competition.

Categories of Award
Top 3 scorers from Large, Medium & Small Scale members from both the Manufacturing & Service sectors will be awarded.
