Low-pressure zone over Bay of Bengal - fishermen warned

Due to the formation of a low-pressure zone which persists over the Bay of Bengal, the no. # 2 cones for storm-warning have been set up on the Tamil Nadu ports in the coastal areas.

The officials from the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained regarding this the lowpressure format over the northwest Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression zone and crossed the coast at the Tia area in West Bengal yesterday (Thursday, 6th September).

Because of the depression zone, the no. # 2 storm-warning cones have been set up in the seaport areas in the Tamil Nadu Coastal region.

Fishermen have been warned and banned from venturing into the sea. However, this may not lead to any prospects of rain Tamil Nadu/

A cyclonic format is prevailing on the upper layers of the atmosphere over the interior areas of North Tamil Nadu. Further, the intensity of heat has remained higher over the last few days in most cities in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This may lead to the phenomenon of thermal convection and also due to the cyclonic format explained above, there are prospects of heavy rains in 1 or 2 places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Chennai will remain cloudy. There are prospects of rain with thunder in a few paces during the evening or the night sessions.
