The Department of registration of the state government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the registration of properties will be carried out as per the serial order from 17th September.

The system of online registration of properties had commenced from 1st February. This new system has avenues to provide time allotment as per the serial order.

However, most of the Registrars pursue their own priority on their own accord violating the serial order and do the registration in a random and haphazard manner. Due to this, many of the public waiting for registration get unduly affected. In order to prevent his, the Department of Registration has developed a new system. Certain changes have been carried out in the software for this purpose.

The Chief of the Registration Department, Kuamaragurubaran, explained regarding this that in order to confirm that the registration is proceeding as per the serial order, a new ‘first-in-first-out’ has been created.

Accordingly, only after completing the registration of the document which comes earlier, the computer will allow the next registration. A trial run of the modified system was undertaken in registration office in each of the 9 regions, Presently, the system is being used in 18 registration offices.

From 10th September, the new system will be implemented on the basis of 1 registration office in each district in 50 Registration Offices. Subsequently, on 17th September, the new system is set to be implemented in 575 Registrar offices. Arrangements have been made to impart training for the registrars to master the new system of registration.
