At the Registrar or Sub-registrar office, the stamp duty and registration charges are to be paid. So, how do you pay the same and what is the procedure?

Online payment – the stamp duty can be paid online using e-stamping facility. For this, visit Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL) website which is http://www.shcilestamp.com/. Click open this site and abide by the procedures mentioned for e-stamp.

Internet banking or Cheque – you can also make the payment via internet banking – NEFT or RTGS payment. Or cash or DD payments are also accepted for which the DD should be pertaining to the SHCIL branch in Chennai.

Here is the list of all documents you need for getting the property registered in Chennai

  1. Stamp duty or its receipt that indicates that the stamp duty is paid
  2. PAN card
  3. Any ID proof such as Aadhar card, passport, voter ID, driving license, etc.
  4. ID proof of the witness
  5. Passport size photos of either of the parties
  6. NOC (no objection certificate)
  7. Tax clearance certificate also called as no due certificate
  8. Other related property documents such as sale deed, power of attorney, conveyance deed, etc.
  9. Pattadar passbook
