The newly introduced token system for the registration of properties when the token number will be given only after entering the stamp paper code number, mainly in order to avoid fake tokens, has now been temporarily cancelled.

In order to establish the proper priority order, the new token system was recently introduced where the token number will be issued after entering the secret code number issued in the stamp paper and then the day’s registration will be done on a priority system based on the tokens issued. Accordingly, the stamp paper vendors were emphasized to enter the data online giving details of the stamp paper sold by them.

After this, in order to expedite the system, it was decided to issue 100 tokens every day. Soon after this system was introduced, there were computer-related technical snags encountered in several registrar offices, As the number of registration documents piled up in this time, the process of registration was severely disturbed.

Subsequently, the department of registration has decided to temporarily stop this new procedure of issuing token numbers after entering the secret code given in the stamp paper.

The department of registration has emphasized to the registrars to continue with old system till this problem is resolved.
