Prospects of a cyclone in 3 days in southwest Bay of Bengal

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has warned that there are prospects of a low-pressure zone recently formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal to develop into a depression zone to transform into a cyclone.

The director of the Chennai Meeorological Centre, Balachandran, shared the information in this regard that there is a cyclnic format developed over the southeast Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka. Due to this, there has been widespread mild rain in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, In some places, there had been heavy rains.

There are prospects of mild rain in the next 3 days in several places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until 5th October. There are prospects of heavy rain in some places.

Around 5th October, it is expected that a low-pressure zone would form over the southeast Arabian Sea. This may intensify to be a depression zone during 6th and 7th October and may drift towards the northwest direction. There are prospecs that this depression may transform into a cyclone.

The fishermen are warned not to venture into the sea in the regions of Kanyakumari sea, Lakhadivs, South Kerala, southeast and central Arabian Sea,

The fishermen who are in the deep se zones are warned to return to shore before 5th October.

There are prospects of light to medium rain in a few places in Chennai Metro and its suburbs.
