As it had been informed earlier that the northeast monsoon rainy season is set to start, IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) has now informed that there may be further delay in the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season.
The latest report informs that there are prospects of the onset of the northeast monsoon rainy season in another 4 or 5 days. It has further informed that the conducive climate for this onset is presently prevailing over the area adjacent to Sri Lanka.

As per the news released by the Chennai Meteorological Centre, the winds may blow at high speeds of 35 to 45 kmph from the northeast direction in the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
There are prospects of rain with thunder in 1 or 2 places in South Tamil Nadu on 25th October (today), However, there are no prospects of rain on 26th, 27th and 28th October.
There are prospects of rain in the coastal Odisha area on 29th October. Dry climate will persist over the next few days.
