2 Days rain from today (31st October)

The weather bureau has informed that as the northeast monsoon season has intensified, there are prospects of continuous rains for 2 days from today (Wednesday, 31st October). The southwest monsoon rainy season came to a close in 21st October. It was expected that the northeast monsoon rainy season will commence on 26th October.

However. On 26th October, monsoon winds from the northeast started blowing. However, there were no rains. In this situation, with the monsoon seasonal winds having intensified, it was strongly expected that rain will start during this week. Accordingly, there were light drizzles in several districts in Tamil Nadu from yesterday (Tuesday, 30th October).

With the northeast monsoon rainy season intensifying from today, it is expected that there would be heavy rains from today (31st October). It is expected that the rains will last another 2 more days.

Indian Meteorological Department has notified that the northeast monsoon rainy season will intensify before tomorrow (1st November) in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Andhra.

The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre, S. Balachandran, explained in this regard that a cyclonic format is prevailing in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southwest Bay of Bengal. The northeast monsoon rainy season will intensify before tomorrow. There are prospects of mild rain in a few places in the Chennai Metro City. The rain will intensify gradually throughout the state.

Meanwhile, a warning has been issued that there would be heavy rains in 9 districts tomorrow (1st November). A ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued that there would be rainfall of up to 11 cm in the districts of Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Puducherry and Karaikkal.

Even in the forecast given by the private weather agencies. It is informed that there are prospects of heavy rains in Thiruvallur district.
